IINTERNATIONAL PROJECTS OUR CLUB IS INVOLVED IN
Mark Harbison
The text below is an email I got from Manjit Sawhney, our great partner in India at the Rotary Club of Delhi South Metropolitan. This grant was led by Manjit, PRIP Frank Devlyn, Victoria Sheffied, and me. Manjit, Frank, and I are members of the Rotarian Action Group for Blindness Prevention. The partnership is with the International Agency for Preventable Blindness and Rotary International. Our Rotary Eye Hospital at Karol Bagh (GG1524827) was the first Pilot Project which led to this agreement. 50% funding came from IEF. The Rotary Club of Delihi South Metropolitan and the Rotary Club of Kihei-Wailea were the lead Clubs in this $200,000 Rotary Foundation Global Grant, which was matched with $200,000 from the IEF (an IAPB agency). The grant was a pilot project supported by the RAG for Blindness Prevention to demonstrate the Rotary Foundation that the partnership would work for both the Foundation and the IAPB.
Here is a link to the the IAPB announcement for more information about the Partnership.

PRESIDENT'S REPORT
President John Moore makes presentations

John spoke about the meeting this past week with Kihei/Wailea Rotary and the Lokelani Intermediate school students. They remembered us from the dictionaries we had given them when they were back in third grade. They have a whole slew of projects that they are wanting to initiate and we will work with them to see how we can help them achieve these.
To tomorrow, Thursday, is the tour of the Kamehameha golf club.
Saturday is the school supply drive… Some Lokelani kids will be joining us to help.
Next Wednesday will be dark at mulligans at noon. There will be a Pau Hana event on Wednesday evening at 5 o'clock at Keawakapu Beach. all are welcome.
