TODAY'S SPEAKER

Joanne Doell "Are You Listening"

Joanne gives seminars on how to listen.  She took us through some questions that encouraged us to think of how well we hear someone talking.  Where do we hear the best?  Where do we have the hardest time hearing?  The high frequency sounds from the letters “k, s, t, f, th, ch, sh” are the hardest to hear.  The take away lesson for many of us was if you didn’t hear all that someone said to you, repeat back what you did hear, then ask for what you didn’t hear.

Joanne is a past president of RC of Kihei Sunrise,  coordinated the College for Kids on island, and now working by giving seminars on communication.

GUESTS

Required Volunteer Affidavit

The District 5000 Policy Manual states that it is the duty of all Rotarians, Rotarians’ spouses, partners, and other volunteers who participate in Rotary youth programs to complete and submit a Volunteer Affidavit form.

This is required to help fulfill Rotary International District 5000's (“District 5000”) commitment to creating and maintaining the safest possible environment for all participants in Rotary activities, to safeguard as much as possible the welfare of children and young people with whom we come into contact, and to prevent physical, sexual, or emotional abuse.

If you are going to be participating in any of our Rotary Club of Kihei-Wailea youth programs, click here to download either a Microsoft Word version or fillable PDF version of the Volunteer Affidavit form. Please complete the form and bring it to any club meeting or mail it to Rotary Club of Kihei-Wailea, P.O. Box 175, Kihei, HI 96753. Our club will pay the $10 fee for processing the confidential background check for all members in good standing.
