Inspiration by Joe McDermott:

Joe, who was standing in for his wife, Alice, told of an inspirational poem which hangs in their home. “Living Life” by Bonnie L. Mohr

Life is not a race—but indeed a journey. Be honest. Work hard. Be choosy. Say "thank you". "I love you", and "great job" to someone each day. Take time for prayer. Be thankful. Love your life and what you've been given, it's not accidental. Search for your purpose and do it as best you can. Dreaming does matter. It allows you to become that which you aspire to be. Laugh often. Appreciate the little things in life and enjoy them. Some of the best things really are free. Do not worry. Forgive, it frees the soul. Take time for yourself. Plan for longevity. Recognize the special people you've been blessed to know.

Live for today, enjoy the moment.

Kit is looking for people  who would like to bring this opportunity to a kindergarten or first grader at Kamali'i Elementary School. A commitment of just 3 hours a week during the school year to coach will change a child’s life and future.

Kit's "big ask" for club members is to simply think of people you know whom you think just might love doing this and refer them to Kit, who will do the actual recruiting

A Rotary Information Meeting will take place on February 12 after our regular meeting, from1:15 to 2:00. This will be a great opportunity for fellowship and information for new, returning or transferring member. But we are opening it up to current members who would like a refresher course on Rotary and The RCKW. It’ll be a lot of fun, so please join us!

Barry Hyman will start off a new season of 3-5 minute Getting to Know You talks. Anyone else interested in giving club members a mini-bio on themselves in the next five months, please contact Barry Rosenfeld at 446 0799 or brosenfeld1@gmail.com.

Heather Ballaine was thanked for her work on creating every quarter, a schedule of meeting duties. Please be sure to let her know your off-island dates. If you are unable to carry out your assigned duty it is your responsibility to find a substitute.

In a very moving talk, Annie Woodrum told us about her 6-year-old son, who was struggling with reading, and as a result suffered low self-esteem. She said that he has had an amazing response to coaching by Kit and now has much improved reading ability, as well as new curiosity and confidence.

These points can be used for other people. All members are asked to donate a minimum of $25 per year.

The pot contained $221 and the bag had 45 blue marbles and 1 gold one.
